This chocolate cake is incredibly moist, with a fine texture. It's not fancy - I think of these simple, classic layer cakes as 'homey' or 'church supper' kinds of cakes - the kind that you'd get a big wedge of to have with a giant glass of milk. Of course if you are handier and more talented than I am you can decorate it to your heart's content - but it's not necessary. A simple layer of chocolate buttercream frosting, and you're good to go.
